Christmas to me is all about spending time together with close ones and enjoying good food.
Certainly when it comes to Christmas presents, it is not supposed to be about buying loads of junk that others might "want or need". In reality we can all actually live by and survive without it. It is also definitely not the time to teach kids about desiring and getting obsessed with materialistic items. It seems it is too easy to go to a shopping mall, to get your plastic card out and to spend money on things that you don't need (but retailers probably would like us all go out there and shop till we drop in order to stimulate the economic growth). Anyway I hope this year, you will consider saving some resources and energy for this planet. Buy less on unnecessary items and put a bit of thought into making your own unique little Christmas presents instead!
Since I love food, each Christmas I make my own edible presents for others and no one seems to complain about it. By putting in a bit of thought, time and effort - your Christmas presents can be super special and unique too. This is something that money can't buy!
Here are ten different gift ideas. Some are easier than others to make. The majority are sweet and two are savouries. Please take pleasure in making them as well as eating them (in moderation!). I hope you will make someone feel special. Happy holidays!
